Lesson structure and teaching approach

My teaching approach is very student-centered and student-friendly.

I tend to avoid using conventional text books or commercial courses and teach grammar and language structures through content (e.g. literature) or within some kind of relevant context - but not as a stand alone.

My goal is to keep the student highly motivated at ease and to feel that s/he is making progress as a competent learner.

Lessons are taught on Zoom or Skype for both individuals and small groups (provided learners are at the same level of language competency).

During the first couple of lessons I discuss, assess and document students’ level of competence, interests, needs and expectations, and then design and adapt my course content based on this data. I recommend 1h30mins lessons and structure them - depending on ability level - with a conversational part to start, followed by some more focused work using texts (articles, songs, recipes etc.) to develop comprehension and vocabulary as well as listening or reading skills.

I highly recommend Eugenia’s skilled and personalised approach to teaching. I’ve been having Greek lessons for the past couple of months and am so enjoying them, which is huge for me as previously I’ve found language teaching very boring. Not so with Eugenia, she will find a way for YOU to learn and not follow traditional methodology. So if you’ve always wanted to learn Greek, or Italian, nows the time! 💖❤️💖

I have thoroughly enjoyed Eugenia’s lessons so far. The use of content that is relevant to me and to what I am interested in makes learning fun and very motivating. She has a friendly and encouraging manner, and I really see the progress happening effortlessly!
